Only professional level alto clarinets have the double register
mechanism. In my experience the D and above are on the upper one. I have
never seen an instrument old enough to have a double register key. That
would probably be an interesting learning experience.

My new model Buffet Alto Clarinet does not have this feature. I think it
was a mistake that they left this off although the only problem note is the
middle line B when going up.
