Subj: [kl] Burke-Phillips and Golden Crest Records Update

Dear List,

A good news bad news situation.

It appears the current owner of Golden Crest only has only one of the LPs
still in stock (CR 4035, credited to Walter Beeler and the Golden Crest
Band, but in effect by Burke-Phillips). I do not know how many copies
still exist. This is not the recording with Vincent Abato's recording of
the Tchaikovsky transcription but undoubtedly a wonderful band recording,
nonetheless.

It also appears that Dr. Phillips (Harvey Phillips, the great tuba player)
is working right now to release a CD set of all three LP recordings. The
release may be coming soon.

As they say, watch this space.
