Well, the question has already been answered, and it is for A clarinet.
But, there is a funny story. Roger Hiller was the senior of the two
principals when I first arrived at the Met, and he hated his A clarinet.
Consiquently, he played everything on his Bb and transposed, including the
Tosca solo. If there happened to be a low E in the solo, the second
clarinetist would play it. This was most noticable in Act III of La
Boheme. (or act IV - low solo)
He even did this in Strauss. He was a great musician, and an amazing
transposer.
