We were talking tube vs. transistor, bioth in an analog sense (I believe)

Digital is something else (and could be tube or transistor, though the
likelihood of someone doing anything practical with tubes in the digital
space would depend on whether or not there are enough tubes left in the
world to do something relevant with them :)
