Subj: [kl] review in The Clarinet
Date: Tue, 21 Sep 2004 14:30:40 -0400

I was pleasantly surprised to see that Joseph Messenger
wrote a review of one of my duet books in the September
2004 edition of The Clarinet(page 84).In the short
space allocated, there wasn't much said about where to
get the music. You can click on my JB Linear Music ad
in Woodwind.org under "music and books", go directly to
www.jb-linear-music.com or email me at
info@-----.com to have a catalog mailed or
emailed to you. Although they are not yet on the web
page, I have started to publish some clarinet quartets
that might be of interest. So far I have Tschaikowsky
(Selections from Album for the Young), Schumann
(Selections from Scenes from Childhood), and Ravel
(Mother Goose Suite). These are available at
http://shop.vendio.com/jblinear

Here are some quotes from the review:
"Duet playing is one of the great joys of clarinet
playing and John Gibson has added another volume of
transcriptions of complete pieces to the extensive
repertoire he has previously published." "The
difficulty varies, buy most of the pieces are playable
by good high school or university students. They also
provide great recreational playing for advanced players
and could likely be programmed on recitals."
"Clarinetists who have played Gibson's other sets of
duets will also want to own this one"

John Gibson
