Hmmmm.......Fred, in my opinion it sounds like that C clarinet needs a =
major
overhaul or it is a dog that can't be improved. A C clarinet should be =
very
much like a Bb, but with a more ringing clarion tone and more "focused"
chalumeau.....kind of like 2/5ths of the way towards an Eb.....which is
exactly what it is!

I have an inexpensive Buffet E11 C clarinet, but it was chosen out of =
three
instruments and is set up beautifully....and I just love when I get a =
chance
to play it in Strauss or Mozart of Beethoven.

It's also really handy for work on film sets where the band is normally =
each
handed a piano part as the "arrangement" to work from. Hmmm.....guess I
could also use a C melody sax!

It feels like it has much less resistance than the Bb or A, and the tone =
is=20
much thinner. Even the Eb feels better to me than the C.
