In my own defense, I must have seen something in the
advertisement that caused me to thing that they were sterling. I
don't know what that was and you seem to have looked a lot harder
than me.

It sounds like a wonderful instrument; but Dan wasn't writing
about your
clarinet. He was writing about the pair currently on eBay, which
the
seller's ad *does not claim* are made of Sterling Silver. The ad
specifies
that they're silver-plated. Since most Selmer metal clarinets
are
silver-plated, I would assume that the seller's information is
correct,
unless there's definite evidence that it's wrong and that the
clarinets are
the much rarer Sterling models. What I wanted to know was what
makes Dan
think these clarinets are "said to be Sterling." Said by whom?
Has
someone observed a Sterling hallmark somewhere in the photos? Is
there
some other positive information, or is this just a mistake in the
thread
header? Sorry to be argumentative, but it's an important point
to clarify,
because it makes a large difference in the value of the
instruments.
