Dan's thread header says, "said to be Sterling," but I can find no such
claim in the seller's ad, which identifies both clarinets as silver-plated
-- normal for metal Selmers.

Not strange if the two weren't originally manufactured as a pair. The
original owner may have come to think of them as a pair if they *play* well
as a pair (as do my Buffets, a Bb made in 1937 and a clarinet in A made in
1931). The seller apparently misunderstands what "extended" means, since
he writes that the Bb is also extended because it has some of the other
high-end keywork options. (It's an 18-key, 7 ring model.) The photos are
unusually good ones, btw. As Dan says,
