No. They have a dark sound. The nature of the sound of a
clarinet is inversely proportional to the square of the glare of
the material used to manufacture them (as measured in ergs/square
feet). This is a little known property of sound, and an even
lesser known property of clarinets and slide trumpets. I am
certain that is it little known because I only discovered the
property about 20 minutes ago, and already international standard
organziations have decided to call it "Leeson's Lemma."
