In which case maybe I'd better point out (a) that the trio's CDs on ECM
('1961') and Columbia ('Free Fall'), which may be more widely available,
date from a time before Swallow switched from upright bass to bass guitar
and (b) that I've just realized that Bley's name appears first on the Owl
CDs (which feature various combinations of the three musicians, not all
inc. bass, and are fairly cerebral stuff). Swallow also plays bass guitar
on several CDs by Carla Bley (piano/orch.), inc. the duet albums 'Duets'
(Watt/20), 'Go Together' (Watt/24) and 'Are We There Yet?' (Watt/29).
