Thank you for all the responses to my question. I think what I will do to
try to satisfy both worlds is to publish my editions with a transposed Bb part
("for those who choose to have a
"defective" playing experience" as Tony puts it) and for those who want a C
part they can purchase it separately for a few bucks extra. This way I can
keep the price down on my editions and still accommodate both views of thought.

I'll let the list know when the Gambaro quartets are available as well as any
other titles that might be of interest to clarinetists.

Thank you again for helping me on my dilemma.

Best,

Marc Cerri

<< Dear list:

I'm in the final stages of editing a new edition of Vincent Gambaro's 3
Quartets for Flute, Clarinet, Horn & Bassoon, Op. 4. As with a lot of music of the
time, the clarinet part is written for C clarinet. My question to the list
is what to do about this.
