I played the clarinet for a few minutes on the third day after having laparoscopic gall bladder
surgery. After one week I was close to 100%. Obviously, that's in a different place than the
appendix so you would still be wise to ask a couple of doctors. My surgeon, who was an amateur
violinist, told me to go ahead and play and I was skeptical so I called my internist, who plays the
clarinet, and he agreed with the surgeon.
