I did; he had no specifics other than don't do it if it's not comfortable.
The laparoscopic procedure is the least invasive in terms of the abdominal
wall, and I'm already walking quite well and driving.

I suspect it is rare that you actually might get a doctor that understands
music playing and its demands on the body, so I was just looking for actual
experience here - I know it always varies but just in terms of guidelines.
I'll be on vacation for a few days so won't even try yet but was curious if
there was anyone else here who had had the same procedure.

I got one response on the trombone list (from an M.D.) that said go ahead
and try it, your body will let you know if you're not ready, specifically
relating that this procedure is drastically different from the standard
appendectomy where a large incision is made through the muscle. I only had
three small (~1cm) ones in a row up my stomach - with the gauze pads it
looked like icing buttons and I thought I should be asking the King "Do you
know the Muffin Man?" :-P
