Dear Patrica,
Your letter means so much to me! Thanks for your kind thoughts.
I had a modern "high tech, robotics-style" surgery, where my hand
and wrist looks ike the Bride of Frankenstein, with an "erector set" on
the outside and screws going directly into the skin and bones. The band
director at the high school wouldn't let me into the band office because
he is weak-stomaced, and turned green when he saw my "robotics arm". I
have figured out a way of playing, which involves placing the bell of my
clarinet on a short, colapsable stool, and doing my best to place the
fingers of my right hand on the tone holes. I haven't missed any gigs
yet, but my playing is not up-to-par yet. The screws and bar comes off
in 6 weeks.
Patty, I will have wonderful CD's available soon with a "live
demonstration" involving me and a student, working on scales. I think
that you might enjoy it. Thanks again, ANNIE
