Some people have more dissolved sugars in their saliva than others. This
having nothing to do with whether they brush their teeth after eating or
drinking.
Valentino pads are also a lot more forgiving than bladder pads....or the
gortex pads Buffet puts on a lot of their clarinets. You can simply take a
damp cloth and wipe the pad clear of anything that might cause the sticking
issue. I do see repair people apply Valentino pads incorrectly. If they
press the pad and create a deep seat, the pad may actually stick as a
result.
