So is there any merit in taking off all the keys, and cleaning
everything to cure sticking if it is caused by stickiness from the
previous player?

I have them all over my Bb, and on the upper joint of my bass clarinet.
They
don't stick any more than any other pads. If you get gunk on the pad
seat,
yes, they will stick. So will anything else.
