My first Valentino pad was a replacement on the large Ab/Eb key on my 1974
Buffet R13 Bb. THe pad was a black one, put on by Albert Alphin in Boston.
It lasted 14 years, and was removed only because Morrie Backun replaced all
of the pads on the horn when the keys were replated.

He replaced them with Valentinos, only this time they're white.

I've never had one stick, ever.
