Forest,

This recording was not, technically, done by the Goldman Band. The band was
comprised of top New York City wind players (many of which, no doubt,
played with the Goldman band). It was called the All-Star Concert Band and
sometimes referred to as The Burke Phillips All Star Band. Burke being the
great cornetist James Burke and Phillips by the great tuba player Harvey
Phillips. More information can be found at:

The Tchaikovsky was arranged and conducted by Lucien Cailliet who was a
bass clarinetist in his early days (with the Philadelphia Orchestra, I'm
told). I don't know the names of the clarinetists on the recording but I'm
sure it was a whos who of the greatest players of the day.

I'm working on getting the rights to rerelease this recording on CD. As
they say, watch this space!
