I suppose it's a question of whether you think that a judge might take those
things into account when evaluating your performance as a contender for
winning the competition; or on the contrary, that what he wrote was just to
inform you both what he thought was correct -- and to prove he was listening.

The thought that there might be a musical world where a respected player
would actually penalise you for such things is almost impossible for me to
imagine. It wouldn't happen 'over here', and I very much doubt that it would
happen 'over there' either.

But if you have hard evidence, please enlighten me.
