Hi Ken,
This piece (one of my all time favourites, actually) depends very much on
the timbre of the clarinet, just figure the long note in the beginning. I
wouldn't play it on a modern instrument let alone a boehm type. Yet if you
have to, try to find at least a "Viennese style" mouthpiece with long
facing, tiny tip opening and heavy reed. Otherwise it will turn out a
travesty as indeed all recordings I have heard do.
