The middle tenon on my bass sticks and is very hard to put together, but
will twist and start to separate after it gets warm. If I use cork grease
it *really* separates, so I've found that if I breathe on the cork for
just a little bit before assembling it, it warms up enough to go together
easily. (I know, I know I should have it looked at and my tech has told
me he can fix it, and one of these days I'll have it attended to.)

But the point of all this is that at a rehearsal last week, when a
passing percussionist asked me what that was that I was smoking, I could
honestly answer, "A really big joint."
