Subj: [kl] air leakage
Date: Fri, 20 Aug 2004 00:13:27 -0400

Thanks for the responses I've gotten. I don't think my problem has much to
do with reed strength, because it seems that no matter how hard or soft my
reed is, I still have the problem. I found that Forrest Aten's advice
seemed to help...I found that when I thought about redirecting the air it
helped some. I did this by thinking about relaxing and flattening my
tongue, keeping it really far forward, and keeping it lower in my mouth than
usual. I have a tendency to tense and ball up my tongue, and keep it really
high and back in my mouth, which is probably what caused the air stream to
be directed too far back causing it to leak out of my sinus cavity.
Thank you for your help, and if anyone has any other advice I'd appreciate
it.
