Lelia,
I'm curious to know exactly what those terms and conditions are which
"subject us to unreasonable legal liability." I've been leery of
publishing by digital download or recommending that anyone do so, in
part because of such mutating terms and conditions (as opposed to firm
conditions of a traditionally written contract), and often poorly
considered terms that composers should not accept in the first place. I
don't speak of SibeliusMusic per se, but of the larger picture of
digital publishing where I've seen things get really goofy on occasion
when it comes to agreements/situations that composers get themselves
into. Hey, it's part of an ongoing concern of mine, so I'd like to know
what's amiss with the morphed SibeliusMusic terms and conditions.
Also: Let us know if the SibeliusMusic webmaster actually does take
the scores down, how long it takes for that to transpire, and whether or
not a search engine can find a piece still residing there even if access
from the normal "front door" of SibeliusMusic has been removed.
