I think your remarks are pretty well grounded...if publishers can sell an
item on the cheap side and cut costs they will.

As to the reason why print runs are so few and far between it could be
because publishers try to cut corners and sell Editions at as high a cost
as possible and not have to worry about keeping up the cost of printing.

Sadly, this is a major problem in the quality of student material as well.
Alot of the newer student material is definitley less involved and detailed
then the stuff that I started on.
