I suppose that is possible and if you wish to undertake that holy
war, be my guest. But why should this entire situation surprise
you? I have said nothing that has not been known since 1803. I
suggest that a much more meaningful statement would be that so
many clarinetists are unable to speak authoritatively about the
history of the works they play, and the factors that complicate
and inhiibit performances that express the composer's intent.

Andy, I think you have had quite a learning experience over the
past few weeks and I am pleased (and even honored) to have been
able to be part of the catalyst that gave you that experience. So
have you bought me a pizza? No. Have you bought and read my
book? No. Have you told me that my granddaughter is gorgeous?
No. So what HAVE you done for me? Perhaps an anniversary card
might be a suitable substitute, or else a bag of Snickers bars.

So isn't it really misleading to credit Mozart as the composer?
Wouldn't "by
Anonymous, based on ideas by W. A. Mozart"?
