I neglected to mention that the original edition was based on a
manuscript set of performance parts, not the manuscript. And on
top of that unreachable distance to the manuscript there is the
added problem that an editor modifed AT LEAST the clarinet part
and to an unknown degree.

How's that for a bastard authority?
