Thanks for the advice, it is much appreciated. I did indeed speak with Morrie
in advance, and he did recommend FedEx. He didn't mention that other carriers
would result in problems like I had, so I just took it to be his carrier of
choice. Not knowing the ugliness I was getting myself into, I figured United
States Postal Service would work fine; they could ship it in 3 days at about
half the cost of FedEx, so I could live with that. Little did I know the
customs mess that would await me. This is definitely one of those "you get what
you pay for" situations!

The good news is that I finally got someone from the customs broker to call me
back (might have been the part where I left a message pleading for a callback,
and saying that if they wouldn't return my calls or email, I would have little
choice but to consider the clarinet stolen). Supposedly it should be on its way
back to me now.
