I thought of the electrical grips you put on the terminals of a car battery.
Nice tight grab there. Try it on a $4.99 mouthpiece from the sale bin at
Sam Ash. Then, if it works, slap it on your Chadash-Hill mouthpiece and see
what happens.

Credulous fool that I am - I'm something of a convert to the Velcro cable
ties used as ligatures, as discussed on the bulletin board some time back. I
have never tried the more expensive ligatures, but the velcro does the trick
for me - I'd say there's no difference whatsoever in my sound but the reeds
seem to respond more freely, especially on my alto. I'll give the terminal
connectors a miss just for the moment until Ken reports back favourably.
