From: ormondtoby@-----.net (Ormondtoby Montoya) Subj: [kl] First Act anecdote Date: Sun, 8 Aug 2004 15:17:36 -0400
This morning my daughter called me via cell phone while she was shopping
in a Sam's (owned by WalMart, I believe) in Cleveland, Ohio.
I couldn't resist asking her to look for a display of First Act
instruments. She found one --- trumpet, clarinet, flute, and perhaps a
few others.
The clarinet price was $189.50. At my prompting, she asked a clerk to
open the display (which was a locked display) in order that she could
"test how strong the keys are, they look flimsy to me."
Afterwards my daughter told me that the clerk declined. "But," she
said, "the box says that it has perfect intonation and also a convenient
thumb rest."
