It depends on your surrounding conditions...does your house or even just the
area where you play the most have a static electricity problem (or 'spastic'
electricity as my son called it when he was five)? If not...I doubt you have
much to worry about. Winter is the time to be more protective as humidity
drops and the static problem increases. (I'd suggest using Cling-Free or
other static eliminator, but someone would take me seriously)

And if you've come up with some new accessory to attach to your clarinet
that you can comb your hair with, let's find some financial backers and see
if we can partner with a reputable instrument maker. We could give Costco
and Wal Mart REAL band instruments with a gimmick to sell them...maybe a
trumpet that doubles as a hair dryer...
