In 1784 Mozart began a little catalog of his completed
compositions. It isn't complete and it has problems but he kept
it up until his last year. When he finsihed a work, he wrote a
little 4 measure fragment of the first movements. The two
fragments on the front of my book are his catalog's entry for K.
581 in 1789 and K. 622 in 1791. That's his hand in which the two
fragments are written. Enjoy the book.

I want to hear from you after you have read it, particularly with
regards to the Hemmerdingers, which happen to be my wife's
family.

Leeson:

Your book finally arrived - two weeks after vacation. When I've
finished
it I'll write a trashy review. Meanwhile, a question: Who
created the
"fragments" on the cover?
