I started getting mail bounce messages purportedly for email sent using =
the email address I use for klarinet, yet I created this email address =
explicitly for this mailing list. I've since started using it for a =
second music-related list, but that was after I had already been =
receiving spam and bounce messages. So whoever had been scraping =
addresses somehow got it via the klarinet list, either the archives or =
from someone on the list who perhaps unwittingly has a program/virus =
running that gets and forwards the email addresses from their =
correspondence. I can't be that they got it from my ISP, since this =
email address goes direct to my own email server...

However, I think the worst was when I opened a Microsoft Hotmail account =
- I never even told anyone or sent mail from it, yet two days later my =
inbox there was filled with spam. That tells me that someone inside is =
possibly selling the addresses. Ah well, the wonders of technology... =
:-P
