I may be crazy, but I purchased a saxophone yesterday. I'd been wondering
how my little sax/clarinet/piano student was going to develop a good
saxophone tonal concept if I didn't have something to play along with her.
I found a used Yamaha Y-62 that had been padded with something called "roo"
pads with gold plated resonator pads. They are made of kangaroo skin.
(GOD, they had to kill a kangaroo for that saxophone! What have I done?)
Has anyone ever heard of these?
Anyway, I thank whichever kangaroo it was because that saxophone has an
awesome sound with the Selmer C* mouthpiece I got with it. Wish me luck.
I've been nothing but a clarinet and piano player all my life. I guess it
means I'll have to change my identity a bit.
