The trouble with trying to help with questions like this one over the
Internet is that there are several things that could be causing your problem
and sometimes a combination of more than one is involved. Trying one
possible solution after another can get lead to complete confusion. Much
better to have someone who knows how to play and what to listen for in the
same room with you to try to diagnose your specific problem(s) first-hand.
It may well be that there are more general problems going on that are just
not as audible until you finally get to the third register. And by focusing
only on the altissimo notes you may end up with a solution that you think
improves those notes but in reality causes more general difficulties in the
lower pitch ranges.

One question pops into mind - why did you change your mouthpiece and
ligature to ones you seem not to like as much?
