The manufacturer does not generally set the SELLING price, only the price
one can publicly advertise, in the interest of fair competition. You can
give them away free if you want, but only until your money runs out! The
Yamaha Allegro line is a bit different, but, since the spread between
wholesale and MSRP is much smaller, you would not want to sell for much
less, anyhow. The Allegro line instruments are generally a good buy at
their list price, too!
