I'd think 3rd bassoon would not be very likely to have anything
death-defying in it and would be unlikely to leave bass clef. In fact, the
biggest problem may be if it goes below a standard bass clarinet's range -
bassoon starts on the same note as a bass clarinet with a low C extension.
But if you don't read bass clef well, transposing it in advance may be your
only option.
