Concerning David Blumberg's comments given below:

One of the most bite-yourself-on-the-ass things any business
organization can do, is to establish a secret pricing program
about which they do not want their customers to know. When this
happens, two things are guaranteed to result from this injurious
business decision.

1) The time the pricing practice will remain a secret is measured
in milliseconds,

2) When the customers find out about it (and conclude that it was
a policy developed to help the company at the expense of the
end-user), the backlash will eventually damage not only the
profit picture of the company but their reputation, integrity,
and sales.

How is it possible for a company to send out secret documents to
their dealers telling them not to discuss what this secret
pricing strategy is all about and expect that no customers will
find out about it?

GIVE ME A "D"

GIVE ME A "U"

GIVE ME AN "M"

GIVE ME A "B"

WHAT DOES IT SPELL?? S-T-U-P-I-D!!

And the corridors of Wall Street are lined with burned out shells
of companies that thought they could get away with this kind of
business behavior.

btw - Yamaha is forbidding their dealers to even discuss what the
MAP
pricing means. It's their "big secret" - they actually are
telling
their dealers not to discuss it!
So, I figured I'd share it with just "a few select"
Clarinetists.......... ;)

So next time you see a Yamaha display, grill em about what this
MAP
pricing stuff is.
