Perhaps a bit of air circulation (fans in the wings) would help? It
sounds like a conflict between the audience's comfort in the seats vs.
the performers' comfort on stage. When you're hot and the audience is
cold, circulate some of the excess heat towards them, and vice versa.

This may even reduce the hall's utility bill?
