Another idea that has been posted here in the past (I've never tried
this, it seems like a hassle to me, but it's been suggested here):

Take advantage of the fact that oil (bore oil) and water don't mix.
Put a tiny amount of oil on a Q-tip, or dip a string in oil, or contrive
some other applicator, and then 'draw' an oil path or an oil circle
inside the bore which will guide moisture away from the troublesome tone
hole.
