My high school band was like that most of them didn't want any of the others
to hear them in fear they might not play well...when in the end it sounded
poppy and the director was yelling all the time for us as a whole to play
louder...even when some of the girls would want to solo they would not do it right
(pitch and volume all messed up)...so he looked to me to play it out...it used
to make me so mad because it isn't hard to change the volume and it isnt hard
to get a good sound...but they would not do it unless he yelled a lot...oh
well...i guess that's why they are not going into music...

P.S. they played some pretty tough clarinet stuff too...
