That lunch *was* nice (and wouldn't you know we'd end up in a restaurant
with a clarinet screwed to the wall -- glad it was only a beat-up Vito...).
One of the major rewards of going to that convention was meeting people in
real life. There were so many missed connections, too -- I heard that
several people from the klarinet list were there whom I never did meet,
despite so many of us wandering around and peering at each other's name
tags. In fact, that was one way I *did* meet several from the list -- I
noticed them leaning in and staring at tags on passing bodies, and thought,
"Aha -- more cyberfolks, looking for familiar names when they don't expect
to recognize the faces," and made a point of crossing paths and looking at
their tags, too.

I'm very sorry to hear about your back, and hope you feel better soon.
