Gavin,
It's possible he wants you to play a low note, then (and this works best =
on
the bass clarinet)manipulate the note into its harmonics which will =
sound
together. This involves the oral cavity and embouchure. I guess this =
sounds a
bit like some of the sounds you hear from a digeridoo, when the player =
sings
along with the drone.

Subject: [kl] Bass Cl Didgeridoo

We're playing a new work in orchestra which requires the Bass
clarinettist to emulate the sound of a didgeridoo. Has anyone been
asked to do likewise, and does anyone have any tips for techniques to
use to get the sound effects required? Thanks, - Gavin Rebetzke (who
returned to the list recently after a longish break - hello everyone!)
