That is something to consider. But MiniDisc isn't dead quite yet. At
http://www.minidisc.org, you can read about a new format, "Hi-MD", that can
use
1 GB discs; and I think they've also doubled the effective capacity of the
existing MiniDisc blanks.

Yes - I thought of mentioning Hi MD, but was worried about appearing overly
geeky :). My understanding was that the Mini Disk format is slightly higher
quality than mp3 recordings, but still below DAT. Who knows..
