I also have a sharp minidisc recorder, model md-sr50; however i must confess
the purchase was not the result of the careful comparison of several models;
I bought it from a friend. I haven't used it yet, however, I have read some
favourable reviews about its sound reproduction.

The Sony ecm-ms907 mic is currently retailing on amazon for £60, i'll
definitely look into it...
