Ooh, you wicked person, you! Sneaking up on the controversy from behind!

Actually, I don't find that putting in plastic rings affects the sound quality
particularly. I used to have a brass set that came from a shop in Florence,
but they disappeared over the years. (I quite liked them, but don't know
whether that was just the comforting sound of the brass clonking against the
wood when you put them in.)
