Nancy - that may be the same place I wrote about! As it is Marriot, it
probably is (as they would bounce you to another property w/same
company owned) and is a LOT nicer. Close is good, but I'd rather have
nicer accomodations.

I have delivered the first of Fest participants to College Park and
the
Conference Center. It looks very convenient. The Smith Theatre is a
stone's throw from the Conference Center. BTW, I received a phone
call on
Friday telling me that the Center was overbooked and I was being
bumped to
a location 3 miles from the site. I have a confirmation of
reservation
that was made on March 26th. I KNOW they weren't booked full then.
On
Monday morning I am exerting whatever authority I might have and am
getting
my room back, come hell or high water. I made my early reservation to
avoid this problem. I have a confirmation letter that says my
reservation
is "guaranteed". I'll move, if they pay for my stay elsewhere. I say
let
'em bump the latecomers. If any of the rest of you are having this
problem, you need to call the Conference Center (use this number -
301-985-7300) and speak to Mike Castaldi . If that doesn't work, call
Robert Walzel. End of rant!
