Clark, asserting that you hear a difference of sound quality or
character between, for example, two barrels of different material
is not evidence. And what is worse, the terms that you use to
describe those differences are the antithesis of scientific
objectivity. You hear a greater brightness, allegedly caused by
more overtones, etc. Can any objective person accept statements
like this as evidence of anything?

No matter how good the ear, how do you know that these
differences that you allegedly hear exist to the extent that you
suggest?
