E11s can be very good. When I bought my C clarinet I had a Buffet E11, a
Patricola CL7 and a Noblet 45C on trial, and I kept the E11. It had a much
more open sound, the other seemed stuffier and were harder to get a good
sound out of, regardless of the mouthpiece or the reed. Of course it doesn't
quite compare to my Bb R13, too bad Buffet doesn't have an R13 C - their
next C is the RC Prestige, *way* out of the range I was looking at for
casual folk playing or the occasional C part in orchestra.
