Yes, beautifully expressed, however largely anecdotal and not in agreement
with a vast amount of published research. For a material to affect the
resulting sound, it MUST vibrate sympathetically with the vibrating column
of air. It is very easy to mathematically prove that there is an
insufficient amount of actual power (measured in watts) to cause the body of
a woodwind to vibrate (couple) with the air column. It is a different story
regarding the brasswinds, and strings, of course.
