The Marcellus recording is indeed available and I concur with your
appreciation of it. The recent Sabine Meyer recording is compelling for
technique and style, but even this 40 year old recording shows the =
reason
why Marcellus is a legend...especially the tone.

As far as jazz is concerned, my absolute favorite clarinetist is Buddy
DeFranco. Eddie Daniels is considered the best of this generation but I
prefer Buddy DeFranco because he uses the entire range of the clarinet =
and
plays with the top notch jazz musicians. Check Amazon. com or CD now. =
Eddie
Daniels is amazing both technically and musically. He often combines
classical approaches with jazz for a very unique sound. There are =
several
recordings out there.

Robert Marcellus's version of the Mozart clarinet concerto is the best =
as
far as I am concerned. I have never heard anyone play it more =
beautifully. I
do not even know if his recording is available anymore. Again, check =
Amazon.
